ZTerm can now play a sound for some events that occur while you are using it. If the sounds are available, it will play a sound when you connect to a service, when a file transfer completes or when the BELL character is received. These sounds are optional. If the sound with the right name is not available, it will just do the normal beep. It looks for the sound by its name. The names it looks for are 'connect', 'filedone' and 'termbell'. Note: ZTerm plays the sounds using the Sound Manager, which is in System 4.1 and later.
I have included three sound files for system 7 that you can use, or you can use some other sounds.
Sound Installation for System 7:
Get the sound into a System 7 sound file. You can use SoundMover, or several other sounds to do this. Then rename the file to have the appropriate name, for example, 'connect'. If you want to use the files I have included, they already have the right names. To install the sounds into your system file, drag the sound files to the System folder icon. If you are running any applications, it may tell you that you need to quit other applications before you can install them into the System. Thats all there is to it.
Sound Installation for System 6 or earlier:
You will need to copy the 'snd' resources into you System file (with SoundMover or ResEdit, etc) with the appropriate names, or use Suitcase or MasterJuggler to open the file with the sounds.
